Tally Ho!
Tally Ho! is a game of strategy that involves clever maneuvering. Every time you play is unique in this two-player game of pursuit. The light-hearted illustrations on the sturdy cardboard tiles are colorful and amusing. The rules are easy to understand.
Before beginning, all of the Tally Ho! tiles are placed face down on the board. One player takes the role of the hunters and the lumberjacks; the other takes the part of the foxes and bears. On your turn, you can either flip a tile or move a piece.
As in chess, each character moves distinctively and has different objectives. The more tiles that get turned over, the more tactical it gets.
Knowing that you can't repeat a move, you continually analyze your and your opponent's options. Plus, you need to factor in what could be beneath the remaining facedown tiles. It takes a lot of strategizing and planning, making Tally Ho! an exhilarating way to use your brain.

My 11 year olds beg to play this game. They have even made up some songs to go with each move. It has also helped one of my kids with his math facts.
I love that I have this game available for my kids to play. Fun. Sometimes it's nice to take a break and focus on our timberdoodle games.
Tally Ho has become one of our favorite strategy games. We play it a few times a month and it doesn't get boring!
We won this game from Timberdoodle last month, and ever since it arrived there hasn’t been a single day that this game hasn’t been played! It’s incredibly fun, makes you think and because 2 rounds count as one game, it’s always fair. One round you are the hunter and lumber jack, and the next round you’ll be the animals. I really didn’t expect this to be as awesome as it turns out to be, but I highly recommend this game for ages 6/7 and up!
We have this game available to our kids for when they need a break from book learning and it has been played multiple times in the last two days! Easy enough that our first grader can play, challenging enough for our sixth grader. The strategy reminds me of chess which is a family-favorite of ours.
It is a two player game but we've played using teams. Depending on your strategy, the game can end quickly or it can be drawn out to about 20 minutes. When we played the first time, we kept bouncing around in the instructions to figure out moves/captures but we found today that on the back of the instruction booklet, there is a quick guide with all the info.
