”I think this is an excellent book in so many ways for children of various ages, but especially for children who are approaching that late elementary stage because it's a great book for kids to read on their own, or for you to read during morning time.”

Fun Read

I gave this to my son for Christmas, and he's been pouring over it ever since. It's well-written with engaging text, clarifying illustrations, humorous anecdotes, and lots of useful information -- a huge it with survival enthusiasts like my 14-year-old.

Very Fun Adventure Book

Our daughter loved this book. She enjoyed sharing the ideas and facts the book had in it and she even did a few camping adventures in our back yard with her sisters. She would tell them about the book and they would do things based on what they learned. It was rather fun to see from a parents perspective especially when some children are on screens so much. This book got her interested in the outdoors.

Perfect

I got this for my 12 year old who wants to be a Game Warden and loves the outdoors. He poured over this book and kept telling us cool facts. Even when he's not reading it he will just tell us random information that he read in it. His favorite is something gross that hippos do with their tails. I won't spoil the surprise!

A must for the outdoor explorer

We are a rock climbing, hiking, farming, camping and foraging family. We've followed this author for years in his travels and adventures, being inspired to do similar things and my 7th grader was over the moon when he saw this in his curriculum.
