Cosmic Mission Scratch Boards

Scratch-art is a type of engraving where an artist scratches through dark ink to uncover a colored layer beneath. Now French company Djeco has taken scratch art to a whole new level with these original display-worthy designs. Follow the directions and embellish parts of the creative scratch artboards with simple zentangle-like patterns. In other places, larger areas of the boards are scratched off to reveal hidden surprises.

Using a space theme, Djeco Cosmic Mission creates exquisite cosmic art pieces. Djeco Cosmic Mission includes four scratch templates, one scratch tool and a full-color instruction booklet filled with inspiring design ideas. Djeco Cosmic Mission will boost both your child’s fine motor and visual discernment skills.

”All three kids said they liked the Cosmic theme and were pretty sad when there were no more to scratch off. What I like about this kind of art is that it is generally mess-free.”

    A Reason for Scratch Art

Our kids loved doing the scratch art papers where you scratch off the black and there are colors underneath, but that often just led to scratching all the black off and leaving behind a mess. This kit provided guidance and ideas for actually CREATING art with the scratching and they both (girls ages 7 and 9 at the time) enjoyed making space art. This was an especially fun project while I read aloud about the history of space flight in preparation to go to the Space Museum last summer!

    Good to have on hand

I love to have a lot of little items on hand that provide options other than electronics for my kiddos! This is one of those items. They enjoy it. It's easy to store, doesn't make a huge mess and it is something they can do independently.

    Blast off

I like all the surprises but I don't like how it does not last for a long time I just scratch it and it gets done. I wish there were more of them in a container not only four. Review by daughter.

Son requested these, and they haven’t disappointed

My kids love these scratch-off projects! Especially my son, who struggles a bit with art. Having something that won’t get “ruined” because he’s gone out of the lines is fun for him, and he likes following the included instructions, then taking time to just scratch off the entire page.
