Roadworthy DVD

One out of every two teen drivers will have a motor vehicle accident within the first six months of earning their license. Though our five children safely navigated the teen years, on the way to 2015 homeschool conferences, we totaled both our vehicle and the trailer. While we walked away from it physically unscathed, many teens do not. I can tell you firsthand that emotional trauma can linger for quite some time.

As teaching parents, you choose whether to take on the formidable task of being the primary driving instructor or handing that over to a paid professional. Regardless of your route, be sure to augment the lessons with Roadworthy, an instructional DVD to help your teen driver beat the scary odds. With invaluable tips by experienced accident investigator Mike Pehl, Roadworthy covers everything from the basics of safety checklists to how to deal with hazardous maneuvers of other drivers.

The most critical factor in turning teenagers into safe drivers is their parents. Parents can and should take more ownership of their teens' driving behavior. For this reason, Roadworthy is parent-directed and especially beneficial for parents and teens to watch together.

Roadworthy uses real in-car demonstrations and graphics to support and reinforce each lesson. It will give your teen clear-cut strategies that can be used to make him a more responsible and defensive driver.

Guaranteed to be an asset in every family, Roadworthy promises that they will graciously refund their money if any new or even seasoned driver does not learn something helpful.

NOTE: Roadworthy is for supplemental driver's training/education only and does not satisfy any state's licensing requirements.

Good Stuff

It's designed to be watched by the parent or teacher. However, I opted to have my son watch it with me even though he started driving about 3 months ago. He balked but I made it mandatory if he wants to continue driving. We have watched the first 6 lessons (just about 30 mins) which I unexpectedly gleaned a lot from. It was excellent exposure to driving information for my son who tends to have an attitude of overconfidence. We'll see what we can remember from them as we go out, and then circle back around to watch them again, and repeat until I think its time to move on to the next lesson (12 total). If he hadn't already gained some experience, we would have covered is smaller bites. I highly recommend this DVD, especially if taking a defensive driving or formal instruction class isn't likely to happen.

This is an excellent starter

This is an excellent starter DVD that ensures a proper attitude, self or how to learn techniques, safety driving tips, and many updates for parents who learned on older cars (i.e. airbags necessitate a different optimal hand position on the wheel. My son enjoyed it. I had taught him a lot of it already, but the newer tips were useful. - many do not have the training in attitude and the reality/physics of the situation driving puts you in. :)
