Fischertechnik Profi Mechanic & Static 2 with Engineer

Not all children aspire to a career as mechanical engineers. But every preteen should have a basic idea of how a manual transmission works, what a planetary gear is, and what design makes a bridge sturdy.

While reading about mechanics may be less time-consuming, your student will remember more when he builds what he is studying. The 500-piece Fischertechnik Mechanic + Static 2 kit introduces your child to mechanics and structural design fundamentals.

Using a progression of 30 helpful models - like a windshield wiper, elevating platform, crane, and bridges - to better understand pulleys, leverage, torque, and other such concepts, Mechanic + Static 2 brings book knowledge to life. Fischertechnik Mechanic + Static 2 comes with a wordless manual for building the 30 models.

You can download an additional manual explaining the concepts in PDF format here

Includes the rare Fischertechnik action figure.

About Fischertechnik

For years Fischertechnik manufactured world-renowned components intended for engineering companies who built prototypes of factory installations.

Those tabletop factory replicas realistically and cost-effectively allowed the engineers to plan, program, develop, and test industrial controls and debug their designs. They even train personnel who would operate the new equipment with these models. Because such tasks demanded precision, the Fischertechnik parts were fabricated with quality and realism.

One Christmas (in 1964), Fischertechnik pulled together an assortment of its components and presented child-friendly modeling kits to engineers and industrial clients. The gifts were so popular that in 1965, Fischertechnik introduced its first building set in Germany.

Over the years, institutions that promote pre-engineering courses for middle and high-school students have used Fischertechnik components in 1,300 schools across the states. Equally valuable in a homeschool curriculum, Fischertechnik allows children to learn technology using the most realistic parts currently available.

Highly regarded by engineers, the ready-to-assemble, compact training models mimic real-life applications and are suitable for education, training, and industry. Engineered to scientific precision and manufactured using high-strength nylon, plastic, and steel, the unique design of these components results in the most durable and reliable connections.

The versatile Fischertechnik basic building block is the basis for all Fischertechnik construction sets. This block's channel-and-groove design allows your engineer to add parts and build on all six sides.

All Fischertechnik construction kits are compatible. Comprehensive, easy-to-understand assembly instructions are included in every construction set.

Great STEM project!

My 8th grader loves this! He really enjoys building things and re-building them. This can be built and reassembled many times. The pieces are sturdy and well-made.

Great for a 7th grader

My 7th grader thinks that it is fun and educational. The instructions can be confusing. He has taken it apart and is ready to build something new. Keep the box so you can store it until you are ready to build something new.

Sometimes the pieces are hard to place

We really enjoyed this set but sometimes the pieces were really hard to place and our daughters poor fingers were red and sore after building. Other than that she really enjoyed when she was able to create the project. My favorite was the balance.

BUILD IT, BUILD ANOTHER, BUILD ANOTHER

So many options for designs and creativity. Our 7th grader and 5th grader love to build, break down and create. This a really good team building kit. For my boys whose interest include design, engineering and architecture this was perfect!
