Famous Figures of the American Revolution

In government schools, history tends to be a read-only subject. Thankfully, however, your homeschooled children have options. If you have a child who dreads reading but loves art and drama, the Famous Figures series is the perfect history supplement.

Each meticulous Figures of the American Revolution illustration is based on authentic paintings and sculptures. Easy-to-assemble colored characters are printed on heavy cardstock with perforated pages for trouble-free removal. Cut out the figures, punch holes where directed, and attach some common fasteners. Your Famous Figures of the American Revolution characters are ready to take center stage as your child reenacts momentous events in American history.

If your student is an avid artist, she will be pleased to discover that a colorable version of each figure is also included on the same sturdy cardstock. Fill in each Famous Figures of the American Revolution character to be as realistic or exotic as you wish.

Famous Figures of the American Revolution include figures of:

  • Benjamin Franklin
  • Betsy Ross
  • Daniel Boone

  • John Adams

”I’m thinking I should mount the finished figures to sticks and let the kids put on a puppet show based on what we’ve been studying in our history lessons.”

    History Comes Alive

These were a fun addition to our history studies. Necessary, no. But definitely helped the kids to engage in the history they were listening to in order to understand the story of the person they were making. Each book has a figure that is colored and one that is not for each person represented - my two children alternated who did the coloring and who did not on different characters; sometimes they wanted the professionally colored one and sometimes they wanted to color so this worked out perfectly!

    Excellent Quality

I used these for an arrival activity. The kids were engaged, learning about some famous people of the Revolutionary War and having fun. Even the teenagers were doing them.

    Something extra

Great hands on activity to give a break to my can't-sit-still 4th grader. Helps us stay on the subject while letting the fidgety hands do this while we talk.

    We are obsessed

These are so fun! I throw in a YouTube video to go along with these while we are building the dolls.
    A fun approach to history.

    Fun to see historical people

My daughter enjoys these, and is getting through them faster than she did the ancient ones a few years ago (there's lots of detailed cutting involved). They work well for when we're reading. There are blank ones, in case you want to color them yourself, and pre-colored ones, which is what we've mostly used. As someone else posted, it would be nice if they were perforated, instead of needing all the cutting, but I guess you can't have everything.
