Fischertechnik PROFI Strong Pneumatics

What do jackhammers, bike pumps, dental drills, and air sirens have in common? They are all pneumatic devices. Even the widget that keeps your screen door from slamming and the atomizer that freshens the restaurant bathroom are examples of pneumatic mechanisms.

Fischertechnik PROFI Strong Pneumatics will guide your teen into the study of using air to generate movements and do mechanical work. He will learn that nearly anything can be powered with compressed air as an alternative to muscle power, electricity, water, hydraulic oil, or wind power.

Using the online materials and his PROFI Strong Pneumatics kit, he will learn the advantages pneumatic machines have. Compressed air is clean, can be stored and transported, is explosion safe, and does not require complex mechanics.

In addition, your student will learn the individual components and investigate how they work. Moreover, the PROFI Strong Pneumatics kit includes many different example models that illustrate how pneumatics are used.

These six realistic models will demonstrate the many different ways pneumatics function while teaching the basics of pneumatics. Among the models to be built are a front loader, double rotary windrower (also known as a swather), and a log grabber. More information is available online for students who want to delve even deeper into the world of pneumatics.

Fischertechnik PROFI Strong Pneumatics comes with over 600 parts, including one compressor, three Pneumatic cylinders, three exhaust throttles, three manual valves, and a building manual. Includes the rare Fischertechnik action figure.

About Fischertechnik

For years Fischertechnik manufactured world-renowned components intended for engineering companies who built prototypes of factory installations.

Those tabletop factory replicas realistically and cost-effectively allowed the engineers to plan, program, develop, and test industrial controls and debug their designs. They even train personnel who would operate the new equipment with these models. Because such tasks demanded precision, the Fischertechnik parts were fabricated with quality and realism.

One Christmas (in 1964), Fischertechnik pulled together an assortment of its components and presented child-friendly modeling kits to engineers and industrial clients. The gifts were so popular that in 1965, Fischertechnik introduced its first building set in Germany.

Over the years, institutions that promote pre-engineering courses for middle and high-school students have used Fischertechnik components in 1,300 schools across the states. Equally valuable in a homeschool curriculum, Fischertechnik allows children to learn technology using the most realistic parts currently available.

Highly regarded by engineers, the ready-to-assemble, compact training models mimic real-life applications and are suitable for education, training, and industry. Engineered to scientific precision and manufactured using high-strength nylon, plastic, and steel, the unique design of these components results in the most durable and reliable connections.

The versatile Fischertechnik basic building block is the basis for all Fischertechnik construction sets. This block's channel-and-groove design allows your engineer to add parts and build on all six sides.

All Fischertechnik construction kits are compatible. Comprehensive, easy-to-understand assembly instructions are included in every construction set.

Manufacturer Description
Six different models that illustrate the principles of pneumatics can be built with the fischertechnik building blocks, a compressor, three cylinders, and three exhaust throttles. These include three particularly impressive vehicles that can be found on farms or in forests in everyday life. One of these is a tractor that comes equipped with a compressor. The impressive steerable model with its large tires provides a basis for three clever additions: A front loader lowers and lifts the bucket and tips it over at the front. The exhaust throttle regulates the speed to make sure the bucket doesn’t lift up and over too quickly. Tree grippers do heavy-duty work in the forest and can be recreated with this construction kit. The arm raises and lowers while the pliers are opened and closed with the hand valve. The gripper arm can even be fully rotated - just like the impressive original during heavy-duty forest work. The double rotary rake is driven by a drive shaft and rotates as soon as the tractor moves. Once the job is completed, it can be fully retracted to allow the tractor to park in the garage. Rotary rakes are used in agriculture when harvesting crops such as hay. fischertechnik allows children to replicate this useful machine. The kit also includes a scissor lift table, a clamping device and an easy-to-build working model. The Strong Pneumatics construction kit is suitable for children aged 9 and up.
