Famous Figures of the Early Modern Era

In government schools, history tends to be a read-only subject. Thankfully, however, your homeschooled children have options. If you have a child who dreads reading but loves art and drama, the Famous Figures series is the perfect history supplement for him.

Each meticulous Famous Figures of the Early Modern Era illustration is based on authentic mosaics, paintings, and sculptures. Easy-to-assemble colored characters are printed on heavy cardstock with perforated pages for trouble-free removal. Your student will cut out the figures, punch holes where directed, and attach conventional fasteners. Your Famous Figures of the Early Modern Era characters are ready to take center stage as your child reenacts the age of empires and new beginnings.

If your student is an avid artist, he will be pleased to discover that a colorable version of each figure is also included on the same sturdy cardstock. Fill in each Early Modern Era figure with hues as realistic or exotic as you wish.

Famous Figures of the Early Modern Era include figures of Mary the Queen of Scots, James I, Samuel de Champlain, Queen Nzinga, Shah Jahan, Pocahontas, Rembrandt, Louis XIV, Isaac Newton, William Penn, Peter the Great, Johann Sebastian Bach, Ch’ien-lung, Captain James Cook, Catherine the Great, William Wilberforce, Napoleon Bonaparte, Robert Fulton, William Clark, Simón Bolívar, and Sacagawea. A detailed biography section provides vital information about the Early Modern Era characters. Famous Figures of the Early Modern Era also includes a companion reading list for each character. Perfect for parent/teacher read-aloud or for independent readers.

Pairs perfectly with Story of the World Volume 3.

    Fun Addition

These are a fun addition to our history lessons! We also like that you have the option of putting together an already colored one or you can color your own.

    History Comes Alive

These were a fun addition to our history studies. Necessary, no. But definitely helped the kids to engage in the history they were listening to in order to understand the story of the person they were making. Each book has a figure that is colored and one that is not for each person represented - my two children alternated who did the coloring and who did not on different characters; sometimes they wanted the professionally colored one and sometimes they wanted to color so this worked out perfectly!

    Famous Figures

We have used these books for a few years now. My daughter loves to do them as we listen to our Story of the World audio lesson. I also love the little bit of info you learn about each person. One set is in color already and you just cut out. The other set is able to be colored and cut out. Perfect if you have 2 kids maybe one older than the other.

These characters have been an excellent addition to our history studies. They are made of excellent, thick paper, and can withstand much play and use.
